What about all the Lifetime Roofs?

The Slogan “ The last Roof you ever need “ or “ Never roof again!! Never!!” are not new anymore, a lot of Metal Roof Manufacturer but not only Metal Roof Manufacturer use Slogan’s like that. But it is really trough?

First of all. It is possible to get a Roof with last at least 30 years or more by very low Maintenance. But only when it is installed by a Professional.

No matter what roofing product you like to be installed your roof need’s to be seen at a system. To see your roof as a good system we need to have a proper ventilation, roof-rafter and sheeting have to be in good shape ( no rotten spots ),  a good underlayment ( first waterproof layer ), Ice and water-shield around chimneys, eave and gable. Last but not least the roofing product asphalt shingle, metal, clay, slate, cedar and much more to choice from with a proper gutter system to collect all the water and get it safely away from your house.

The most common roofing choices here in Vancouver and Lower Mainland are Metal or Asphalt Shingles. I do like metal more than asphalt shingles because of the durability from metal. Asphalt shingles a affordable they do have a lifespan from 10 - 15 years after that the start to crack because the rain did wash the granulate away ( slate granule is used as UV protection on asphalt shingles.) That doesn't  mean your roof is necessary leaking the roof underlayment should be still intact, when it is done right. It just means that the maintenance and repair coasts are higher than by metal.

You have lots of design and color choices by metal roofs they almost maintenance free the only thing you have to do ( or get some one to do it ) is cleaning the gutter, drains and the area behind skylights and chimneys.
